Soy-Glaze Marinade

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Garlic cloves Minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger Peeled and minced
  • 4 Scallions Sliced
  • 3 tablespoon Sugar
  • ½ Cup Soy sauce
  • ¼ Cup Rice vinegar Sweet, Mirin
  • 1 Lemon Juiced
  • 2 teaspoon Seasame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Chili flakes Optional
Make a slurry and transform this marinade into a beautiful sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Equal parts, Adjust accordantly
  • 1 tablespoon Water Equal parts, Adjust accordantly

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, garlic, ginger, scallions, sesame oil, and chili flakes. Until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Stored in an airtight container or glass jar. Up to 1 week
FOR SAUCE
  1. In a small bowl, whisk 1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp cold water until smooth
  2. Pour your marinade into a saucepan and heat it over medium heat until it begins to bubble.
  3. Slowly stir the slurry into the hot marinade while whisking continuously.
  4. Cook 1–2 minutes until thickened to your desired consistency.It should coat the back of a spoon like a glaze.
