Sesame Crust

Sesame Crust (Gomashio)

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup black sesame seeds
  • 1/4 cup Kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoons Granulated garlic

Method
 

  1. Toast for Flavor: Preheat a small dry cast-iron or stainless steel skillet over medium heat. Add half of the white sesame seeds. Toast until fragrant and golden brown (about 2–4 minutes).
  2. Transfer the toasted seeds to a small heatproof bowl and let them cool completely.
  3. Combine: Add the remaining raw white seeds, the black sesame seeds, salt, and garlic flakes. Stir to mix.
  4. Store: Keep in an airtight jar away from heat and light. It will stay fresh for at least 6 months.
