- Toast for Flavor: Preheat a small dry cast-iron or stainless steel skillet over medium heat. Add half of the white sesame seeds. Toast until fragrant and golden brown (about 2–4 minutes).
- Transfer the toasted seeds to a small heatproof bowl and let them cool completely.
- Combine: Add the remaining raw white seeds, the black sesame seeds, salt, and garlic flakes. Stir to mix.
- Store: Keep in an airtight jar away from heat and light. It will stay fresh for at least 6 months.
