At The Chef de Partie (https://thechefdepartie.com), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This policy outlines the types of personal information we collect, how it’s used, and your choices regarding your data.

Who We Are

Our website address is: https://thechefdepartie.com. This blog is maintained by a solo chef and recipe creator sharing culinary content, including original recipes, images, and food photography.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string (hash) from your email address may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you’re using it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy. After approval, your profile picture becomes publicly visible alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors may be able to extract this data from images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last for one year.

If you log in to our site (admin use), cookies may be used to remember your session and screen preferences. Login cookies last for two days (or two weeks if “Remember Me” is selected).

Editing or publishing an article will store a temporary cookie indicating the post ID; it expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, social posts). Embedded content behaves as if the visitor had visited the source website. These third-party websites may collect data, use cookies, and track your interaction, especially if you’re logged in to their platform.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How Long We Retain Your Data

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account or have left comments, you may request an export of the personal data we store about you, or request its deletion. This excludes any data we’re required to keep for legal, security, or administrative purposes.
